# Add Pause

> Manually insert pauses to control the pacing of your speech.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Click on the Sentence">
    In the **Speech** section, click the sentence where you want to add a pause.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Place the Cursor">
    Move your cursor to the exact position in the sentence where you want the pause.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select &#x22;Add Pause&#x22;">
    Click the **Add Pause** button in the toolbar, then choose the desired pause duration.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate Speech">
    Click **Generate Speech** to apply the changes and regenerate the audio.
  </Step>

<Tip>
  Need a longer break? Just insert multiple pause commands in a row.\
  For example, adding a 1-second pause twice results in a 2-second break.
